After School Program 2017-09-18T14:29:00+00:00

The After School Program provides daily therapeutic services during the school year to youth with significant behavioral and emotional problems in a setting that addresses behavioral problems. Our Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) furnish transportation for our young people from school to one of our New Life sites. On arrival, the youths receive healthy snacks. Emotions are processed through daily journaling.

All youth participate in structured therapeutic activities and group counseling that may sometimes include therapeutic community outings. Throughout the program, and as the need arises, youth are provided with individual counseling. OUr After School Program counselors work to aid the youth in improving their self-control, in setting and respecting boundaries, and in developing self-relaince, focus, and social skills. These efforts assist them in becoming more self-aware and increase their compliance with expectations in the home, school and community.

At the end of the day, the QMHP will provide transportation to the student’s home. This program operates Monday-Friday from 3 – 8p.m. during the school year.

If you know someone who might benefit from these services, you can begin the process today. There is a counselor waiting to talk with you.
